Scion to the Siam Kolakan empire, Pranitan “Pete” Phornpraha has made big waves on his own. His singular vision has seen him co-found and create some of Thailand’s most landscape-defining projects, including Wonderfruit Festival. Part of his social enterprise Scratch, it purports to change the notion of festivals and create an experience that integrates music, art, and good-living. He has succeeded. He is also changing the way that we travel and adding a sense of adventure and mysticism to transportation, having introduced Vespa and Deus ex Machina to Thailand. Next came Morimoto restaurant in the Mahanakhon Cube. Pranitan personally approached Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto to bring his restaurant to Bangkok and now we have our very own Morimoto in the city. If that is not enough, Pranitan is also the founder of Asiola, Asia’s first crowdfunding platform for artists and good causes. Ambitious and contagiously positive, Pranitan is the next generation of the Siam Kolakan empire, but he is also creating an empire of his own, shaping a vision for the future: one that is greener, happier, and more community-driven, without compromising on design or aesthetics, of course.
