The name may not ringa bell now, but it will soon. This entrepreneur is daughter of Asia’sleading fashion mogul, Silas Chou, who’sbest known for investing in Michael Kors andTommy Hilfiger, and taking the two brands tosuccessful IPOs. Recently Silas has stepped aside, passing the baton down the bloodline, first toVeronica, his elder daughter (who featured inour inaugural list after selling her Iconix China company for a healthy 10 million US dollars and is now caring for her twin boys) and now to Vivian. She first made headlines for the acquisition of Thakoon under her Hong Kong-registered company Bright Fame Fashion. Vivian, and Thakoon are now embarking upon a path to find an alternative way to present and sell fashion. What we have seen thus far is Thakoon breaking the traditional way of presenting a collection, with Thakoon designs available on the website and flagship in NY with ever-so-slight weekly drops in limited quantity. What the trio seem to be doing is finding a solution to the imperfect fashion cycle and exploring an alternative. If anyone can make this possible it will be Silas Chou’s daughter, seeing as she grew up among new business models that brought great fortune to various brands.
