Mad Face - Never Been So Hungry

Bangkok's very first Mad Face Food Week makes its debut on Friday 2nd March tempting us with a smorgasbord of food from vendors all-over the city and pop-up dinners with the backdrop of the Chao Phraya River

March 01, 2018
That face we make when we are so hungry and then confronted with food that can only be classified as #foodporn. The kind of gooey, sticky, scrumptious, graphic deliciousness that we have food dreams about. That is what Mad Face is inspired by and where it gets its name.
The inaugural Mad Face Food Week starts tomorrow, on Friday 2 March and runs through till Sunday 4th - the organisers, the same as the ones that brought you Made by Legacy have repackaged what Williamsburg does so well the food fair, Smorgasburg into Bangkok's own version with Mad Face. Needless to say if Made by Legacy celebrates all that is vintage and Americana but contextualised to our very own City of Angels then Mad Face aspires to do the same. With over 30 food vendors from all around the city from hipster to street and pop-up events throughout the weekend, it's 3 days of foodporn and making that Mad Face that we bet you don't realise that you make when your are hungry and are taking that bite of hot pizza.

A couple of the events we are looking forward to is no doubt the Guest List dinner by our chef friends Jarrett Wrisley, Paolo Vitaletti, Prin Polsuk, Nanbunya of the former Little Beast and Andy Ricker of Pok Pok amongst others taking diners Back to the Foodture, the chefs will be cooking up dishes from their own memory. Then Saturday night by Those Fucking Chefs, the camp that challenges and titilates us with everything that is Isan, Nose to Tail and this time Zero Waste as well. Other dinners through the weekend include a sit down by Garima Arora of Gaa.

Going through the list, we realise that we here at 2-mag.com are obsessed with food, we always have been and are so excited for the weekend when our chef friends and family inspire that Mad Face all around.

The festival's motto - Never Been So Hungry. Exactly, with all that luscious food around, should being full to the brim even stop us? Thank goodness there are three days of Mad Face.
